Overview

The Academic Media Center and Faculty Instructional Technology areas are always for students with strong communication skills, solid background in technology, proficient sense of customer service, and professional work ethic.

We are looking for graduate assistants (graduate only) and part-time assistants to fill our instructional technology positions serving the Faculty Instructional Technology center. Our Academic Media Center is looking for work-study assistants for our student media technicians positions.

 

Current Openings:

We are looking to fill openings for the upcoming semesters. We welcome full-time students to apply. After we receive a candidate's application, resume, and skill survey, an intense review process begins. Interview selections will be made if the candidate stands out and presents a match to the comprehensive skills and needs of the department at the time. Not every applicant is interviewed.

We are always looking for students who possess the skills below:

bullet Excellent communication and presentational skills
bullet Willingness to help others with technology
bullet Strong initiative and self directedness
bullet Ability to work well within a team
bullet Strong organization skills
bullet Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Windows, and Mac OS X
bullet Basic knowledge of Web design
bullet Basic knowledge of graphic design
bullet Basic knowledge of video editing
bullet Basic knowledge of audio/video wiring
bullet Other computer interests such as programming or database development a plus

 

To apply, you must also meet the following requirements:

bullet Have and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA
bullet Be a full-time St. Mary's Undergraduate or Graduate student
bullet Be physically able to reach classrooms in a short time frame (5 minutes or less) to troubleshoot technology emergencies
bullet Be able to conduct heavy lifting of 25 lbs. or more when moving boxes, equipment, and furniture
bullet Be able to work flexible work hours and shifts

Please note that student assistants will need to work at least 20 hours a week. Graduate assistants may have additional requirements.
