What is Adobe Connect? — (all)
St. Mary's uses Adobe Connect as a web conferencing tool that allows users to meet online for real-time meetings and online presentations. Adobe Connect sessions can be viewed through any standard web browser.
What does Adobe Connect do? — (all)
Adobe Connect is a web conferencing tool that provides the following types of features to help with teleconferencing and remote collaboration:
1. Broadcasting your computer screen so that remotely located audiences can follow along.
2. Shared white board for brainstorming ideas online.
3. Simple webcam videoconferencing to be able to view remote meeting participants.
4. File sharing tools so that all meeting participants can access meeting materials.
5. Audience feedback tools so that large, remotely located audiences can ask questions and give input without interrupting the presenter.
Do I already have an an Adobe Connect meeting room? — (all)
Adobe Connect primarily server as an online instructional tool for faculty and staff. It was purchased for teaching purposes. It is for University purposes only and is not available for individual students to request an account because of license limitations.
Who do I contact to request an Adobe Connect account? — (faculty)

What do I need for Adobe Connect? — (all)
If you are an instructor, you'll need a computer (Mac/PC) that has at least the free Adobe Flash Player 10 or later installed (see below for more specs). You'll also want to Web cam for video and a microphone. We highly recommend purchasing a microphone headset to limit the echo that occurs when only using open-air computer speakers.

• 1.4GHz Intel® Pentium® 4 or faster processor (or equivalent) for Microsoft® Windows® XP or Windows 7; 2GHz Pentium 4 or faster processor (or equivalent) for Windows Vista® --Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit edition with 32-bit browser)

Is there an iPhone or Android "App" for Adobe Connect? — (all)
Yes. There is both an Android and an iPhone/iPad "App" for Adobe Connect. However, the Connect app only allows you to log directly into a meeting room, not the overall Connect management system. Once in you can chat, what the presentation, and turn on your micrphone and video camera if available. Click here for information about Adobe Connect Mobile.

Can I view Adobe Connect meeting room recordings on iOS devices? — (all)
Unfortunately, Adobe Connect meeting room recordings are not currently supported on iOS devices. You will need to watch the recorded version of the meeting through a laptop/desktop computer browser using Flash Player 10 or better.
