Faculty at St. Mary's University use Adobe Connect to meet with students outside of class, conduct virtual office hours, bring guest speakers into class, create collaborative sessions with students at a distance, consult students on assignments and research projects, and deliver one-to-one or group instruction.

Adobe Connect, formerly known as Macromedia Breeze

St. Mary's was an early adopter of the Adobe Connect product in 2004 when we purchased Macromedia Breeze to support our the Web-based video of our online Theology graduate program. Breeze became Connect when Adobe Systems, Inc. purchased Macromedia and continued to improve upon the product.

Since then, Adobe Connect has become the main ATS support service to provide a live online meeting space for St. Mary's online classes.

The perfect compliment to Blackboard 9

Blackboard plus Adobe ConnectWhile Blackboard has two built-in collaborative tools for live meetings (Lecture Hall and Office Hours), these Java-based solutions have not performed at the level needed for online classes. On the other hand, Adobe Connect makes the perfect compliment to Blackboard.
